The fifth edition of The Art of Becoming
welcomes Elena Salmistraro to the Xacus Brera Store,
located at Via Solferino 8.

There are projects that allow us to define fashion as a cultural vehicle, emphasizing its historical and cultural value as a witness to a society in motion and transformation. The Art of Becoming represents a virtuous journey that connects Xacus with one or more names from the contemporary art scene, capable of interpreting the brand’s values through a convergence of languages. Now in its fifth edition, this journey — infused with the allure of experimentation — has seen various codes, both traditional and avant-garde from the world of visual arts, merge and interact with the language of fashion.

Communicating brand values through creativity and alternative languages such as art becomes a way to open one’s spaces to promote the artists of our time — much like the patrons of the past. The protagonist of this fifth edition, Elena Salmistraro, is a creator of dreamlike and bizarre figures, blending reality and imagination, with nods to surrealism and magical realism. Named Best Designer of the Year 2022 by the Salone del Mobile Awards and Best Emerging Designer 2017, she brings her unique visual language to one of the most important themes in the Xacus manifesto: Teamwork.

X-Unity celebrates the team spirit of Xacus.

Elena Salmistraro’s is an inclusive art that seeks to tell the story of the world through monsters and anthropomorphic figures crafted from resin-coated polystyrene and entirely hand-decorated. Her boundless imagination and vibrant mix of patterns and colors come together in the surreal characters of X-Unity, a work created for the Vicenza-based brand. The piece is a true representation of harmony and interlocking elements, where diverse individuals unite and bring their unique contributions to a common goal — much like Xacus, which constantly strives for quality and innovation, collection after collection.
