Mariniere
Design for Petit Bateau
2019
La Marinière, a striped t-shirt that became the official uniform of the French Navy in 1854 and later became a symbol of casual elegance from beyond the Alps, experienced a new youth thanks to Petit Bateau. The brand has involved five international designer-artists in the project who have created five models of Marinière: Jesus Sauvage from France, Elena Salmistraro from Italy, Kaeru Sensei from Japan, Freddie Harrel from the United Kingdom and Press Liz from Germany. This co-creation project, starring the iconic jersey, has been celebrated over time by personalities such as Coco Chanel, Pablo Picasso, Brigitte Bardot, and Jean-Paul Gaultier.
The five special t-shirts are available in all Petit Bateau boutiques, selected worldwide stores and on the brand's official website.
