Miya, is a typical Japanese feminine name. A name chosen because when starting to design these small tables, the actual wish was to design a collection that would take its cue from and narrate, at least formally, the kimonos/armour of the ancient samurai, or at least that was the intention, because as often happens, design leads elsewhere.
The initial idea was confronted with constraints, with materials, with simplifications and balancing, changing into something completely different, probably more like a flower than the armour of a warrior.
But design, after all, is the child of signs that are translated and produced into surprise and enchantment.
Miya is thus the child of a vision, of an intuition, that development and growth have made into something unique and sublime.
