Loop
Sofa for Ethimo
2026
Loop was conceived more as an organism than as a simple piece of furniture. It is an outdoor sofa with a fluid body, built through organic volumes that intertwine and support one another, generating a continuous, natural, almost instinctive movement. It is not a sofa in the classical sense of the term, nor a conventional seat. Rather, it exists as a fertile boundary zone, a hybrid form that rejects hierarchies, predetermined orientations, and singular interpretations.
The name Loop evokes the idea of continuity, of a gesture with neither beginning nor end, much like the forms that define it. A movement that folds back onto itself, enveloping, connecting, and holding together. This logic translates into a configuration that dissolves the distinction between front and back. Every side is accessible, every point becomes a possibility to sit, lean, or pause. In this way, Loop asserts itself as an autonomous object, designed to be experienced in 360 degrees, capable of activating the surrounding space and transforming into a true catalyst for social interaction. People gather around it rather than facing one another. The space is shared rather than simply occupied.
Its inspiration is deeply rooted in nature and in its slowest and most powerful processes. In the water of seas and rivers, shaping forms without ever interrupting the flow. In desert sand, accumulating, shifting, and rearranging itself with the wind. In rock smoothed by time and air, as well as in vegetal intertwinings, where different elements coexist within an apparently irregular yet profoundly harmonious balance. It is a narrative of adaptation, continuity, and transformation.
Designed for outdoor environments, Loop enters into dialogue with the landscape, bringing forward an idea of design that is simultaneously sculpture, seating, and a place for connection. An object that does not ask to be observed, but inhabited.
